12/08/2008 Family Fun Day 20th September
On the 20th September, the fundraising committee have arranged a Family Fun Day, running from 12 - 4pm. The money raised at this event will go directly back into the club and will benefit all connected at WUFC. We are hoping to run a toy and drinks tombola and therefore are asking all age groups for a donation of a new toy or a bottle (alcohol always appreciated) for these stalls. Any other donations will be welcome for the raffle etc.... These will need to be handed in at the hut via Helen, Tracey or Julie. We are also looking for volunteers to help run a stall on the day, Please let us know if you can help. Organising such a day is very hard work and as much help as possible would be gratefully received. Remember this event is for the whole club and profits made from this event are for the whole club.
11/08/2008 20th August Registration Deadline
In order for your team to be able to play the first game of the season you are to have the minimum number of players registered with the league by the 20th August, if you do not have a player registered by this date they are not eligible to play the first game of the season. A gentle reminder to all managers, it is your responsibility to get the necessary paperwork to Claire in time for her to process the registrations, it is not Claires responsibility to chase individual managers.
06/08/2008 WUFC - Managers 6-A-Side team - Interested?
Michael Ingledew is looking to organise an Adult WUFC team comprising of those involved with WUFC (Managers/Assistants). The aim is to enter into a local 6-A-Side league. Anyone interested in playing in this team please email michael@whykeutd.co.uk
06/08/2008 2008/2009 Registrations **Managers**
Claire is now working hard processing all of the registrations that have been given to her. if managers have more forms to come please get these to Claire as soon as possible as this is a time consuming task and you may not get your players registered in time if you delay. All of the registrations that have been handed to Claire to date have been processed and will be sent to the league this week, less one or two that require a transfer from an old club.
31/07/2008 Family Fun Day 20th September
The fund raising group at Whyke United are organising a family fun day to take place at Kingsham Primary School on Saturday 20th September look out for further details
31/07/2008 Fishbourne 6 a side tournament - 27/7/2008
Today Whyke United sent a veteran team to Fishbournes 6 a side tournament. The team consisted of managers and parents and ages varied from as old as 46 . As we arrived we knew it would be a tough day, the sun was belting down and the average age of most of the other teams was 21. We had a least 20 years on most of the other players and at least 3 stone, it was fairly obvious that a lot of the other players were at least Sunday, if not county players, but we were up for the laugh. We seemed to be in a tough group and most of our opposition had just come from the gym. We played to the best of our abilities but unfortunately lost all of our games, some being really quite close, only losing 1-0 in 4 of the 6 matches that we played. I think all the old fellows had a great day and at the end of it all we can say that not only did we give our all, but we had fun and laughed all day long. I hope that during this next season some of the younger age groups at Whyke can take a leaf out of the old boys book. Many Thanks goes to Martin Tucker, Kevin Massey, Pat O,Hara, Steve Carroll, Dave White, Stuart Butler, Dave Boxall and Jamie Tucker. We had a great day and a lot of laughs, hope it all happens again next year.

The football’s that were no longer suitable for Whyke United have been given to the organisation along with some basketballs.
