Detailed Report

U9 (8 v 2) bognor regis youth - by ben langton

A tough encounter between 2 very attacking teams was played out today at Kingsham school. It was a very even contest in the opening exchanges and it took a very scrappy goal and eventually the ball was scrambled home by milo tite. A few minutes later and jack Parkinson made it 2. Whyke got caught on the break either side of half time and Bognor were back in the game at 2-2. It remained 2-2 and both managers were looking anxious. Another breakaway from Bognor left Whyke outnumbered, the keeper was rounded and the ball struck towards the goal. An exceptional stop on the line from austen allen prevented an almost certain goal. Allen then moved to a more forward position and tite into defence. 7 minutes from the end and alfie Johnson supplied a great pass to allen who found himself in acres of space and bearing down on goal. He smashed the ball into the corner and the floodgates opened. 2 goals in as many minutes from ben riding, 1 a volley and the other a glancing header sealed the game. The Bognor players heads dropped and that left jack Parkinson to grab 3 late cheeky individual goals. Our toughest game of the season so far and again we showed good character. Well played lads. Up the Whyke. Men of the match austen allen and ben riding.
