Detailed Report
U12B (5 v 2) Felpham Colts Youth - by Toop
Whyke started the brightest & playing with the wind behind them, in the first half, had two good early chances, which were both saved well by the Felpham keeper. Felpham’s first attack brought a warning to Whyke, that they were good on the break, as they nearly scored, but for a good save from Charlie Lomas. Minutes later Whyke’s defence failed to clear the ball & Felpham took advantage with a good finish to take the lead. Whyke started to work the ball well & an interception from Billy Wheeler, who move the ball wide to Nick Berryman, who then put Reiss Cunningham through to finish well to equalised. From then onwards, Whyke pressurised Felpham & another good move involving Alfie Elkington & Owain Webb, nearly brought Whykes second , but for a great stop from the keeper, but the rebound was followed up well by Nick Berryman, who smashed it home. By this time Whyke were totally dominant & had chance after chance. The pressure was to much for Felpham as Reiss Cunningham got hold of a loose ball for his second & Whykes third. Whykes fourth came from a good tackle by Josh Toop, in midfield, moved the ball to Nick Berryman, who seemed to be everywhere, Nick then split the defence with a ball to Owain Webb, who ran on for a clinical finish. At this point Whyke took their foot of the gas & let Felpham back in, as they scored their second, just before half time. The second half started with Felpham pushing Whyke, as they now had the wind advantage, but for long periods Whykes defence of Mitchell Chittock, Billy Spurway, Jordan White & Aaron Rayner, sustained the pressure & were assisted well By Josh Toop, Connor Thair & Billy Wheeler in defensive midfield positions. Whyke though were not content to stay camped in their own half & with good runs from Alfie Elkington, Reiss Cunningham & Owain Webb who were now creating chance after chance, but as the half went on no goals were scored . With a minute to go, Josh Toop was brought back on & seconds later took advantage of a neat little ball from Billy Wheeler & struck the ball into the back of the net., to seal a five, two victory. Man of the match : Nick Berryman.
Well done everyone, Keith & Nick
