Detailed Report

U12B (2 v 5) Lancing Rangers Select - by Toop

On a damp & dismal day, Whyke started brightly, but soon foungd themselves two down. Both goals came from defencive indecision. Not to be detered by this Whyke came right back at Lancing & scored with a good team goal, scored by Tom Cherrill. Whyke could have scored from two great moves, just after their first goal, one chance was denied by a great save by the keeper & the other was franticly cleared of the line by a defender. Whyke enjoyed alot of the possesion, but were unable to capitalise on it. As the weather deteriated both teams were making mistakes. It was from one of these mistakes that Lancing increased their lead. Again Whyke worked hard to get back in the game & were rewarded with thier second as Owain Webb found hiself clear, to slot the ball home, just before half time. The second half was end to end & whyke were denied twice by the keeper & as the game was coming to an end, Whyke were punished by two soft goals. MOM Owain Webb
