Detailed Report

U12B (1 v 1) Worthing Rebels Youth B - by Toop

At last, we had a beautiful sunny day for the game. Whyke started well & looked in determined mood, but after just five minutes they found themselves one down, with the Rebels first chance on goal. But, where in recent weeks Whyke have folded, this time they were talking to each other, passing well to each other & showing some flair as they played. Try as the did though, they just could not break down this stubborn Rebels side. Half time one nil down. Second half Whyke started well, but after a while they were pushed back into their own half, as Rebels pushed for their second goal & clinch the game. But this time the resistance came from Whyke & as the game went on it was Whyke that were creating more & were unlucky on several occasions. With about three minutes to go Billy Spurway pushed out of defence & shot from long range, the keeper found it to hot to deal with & spilled the ball with Aaron Wingate following in to slot the ball home for a well deserved goal. & draw. This was by far the best performance this half of the season. Well done boys, Keith & Nick. MOM Nick Berryman
